Wulangreh Omah Budaya (Wulangreh the House of Culture), located in South Jakarta, provides a different approach to learning about Indonesia's rich cultural traditions, particularly Javanese, in a casual setting that is surrounded by a serene, lovely, and friendly atmosphere.
All ages and experience levels are welcome at Wulangreh Omah Budaya, which offers convenient, "shorter" classes for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults.
Through their various workshops, you will be encouraged to begin your creative endeavors, connect with your cultural "roots," or pick up a new skill. You will fully explore your creativity and potential while having fun while being instructed by knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers and mentors.
In Krecek Village, Central Java, Omah Wulangreh is presently running a community development program and service. You can also take part in their weekly community gathering and Sunday market, "Pasar Minggu Pahingan," which is held in Omah Wulangreh's residence in Jakarta every 35 days in accordance with the Javanese calendar cycle.
Along with workshops, classes, volunteer work, and social events, they enjoy organizing traditional Javanese ceremonies like "Nyadran," traditional Javanese wedding processions and rituals, as well as "mitoni" and "tedhak siten" ceremonies.
