Environmental and Conservation Efforts
The care that the Braja Harjosari community show for their surroundings can be seen in their conservation of Way Kambas National Park. Although, in the last 20 years, there has been a steady increase in conservation efforts. Two significant conservation efforts are important to note- these being the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary, and the Elephant Conservation Centre.
In addition to this, a Braja Harjosari local known as Bapak Suhadak was honored with the prestigious National Kalpataru Award in 2021. This award recognized Bapak Suhadak’s amazing efforts to preserve the local environment.
