They started the Biorock project in 2004. Biorock is an artificial reef that aims to prolong the lifespan and improve the health of the Gili Islands’ coral reefs. They also support the local community in developing a better sustainable system to keep their island’s economy alive. The foundation was found in 2020. If you’re interested in joining their program, they are headquartered in Lombok, to the East of Bali. You can apply to participate in their volunteering program which focuses on marine conservation. They have been contributing to upgrade the local’s life to be more sustainable since 2017.
Turtle conservation, constructing and deploying artificial reefs, beach clean programs, coordinating and supporting local communities through developing a recycling centre, educating fishermen and local communities to live more sustainably are their ongoing projects.
