JAKARTA – Allianz Indonesia, through Yayasan Allianz Peduli, has shown their commitment to the climate and environment by taking part in Pulau Harapan Trip with Bumi Journey (previously named Carbon EcoTrip). They planted one mangrove tree for each electronic polis issued during the program, which lasted for about two weeks from 21-30 November 2021 at Pulau Harapan, in commemoration of the Indonesian Forest Day.
Bumi Journey is proud to have hosted the Allianz team in taking climate action through this event. Through this trip, 168 Allianz employees learnt a complete picture of mangrove conversation from seedling to planting by having a fun first-hand experience with the local communities.
In addition, they gained a deep understanding about the current state of the earth, and Indonesia’s mangroves’ role in climate action and global warming from Bumi Journey, including the principles of #TravelCooler that involves planning, reducing and offsetting your carbon emissions. This event received an overall positive response from the attendees, reflected in its 4.8 out of 5 rating.
Through this trip, Bumi Journey also managed to empower 10 local farmers, 4 local guides and 3 local businesses. Our mission is to always maximize the positive impact of travel in the environment, local empowerment and wellness.
