This accommodation is not just a place to sleep, but also an art gallery that showcases beautiful batik and painting works from Yogya artists. The combination of art and spirituality of Buddhism gives a serene atmosphere that can relax your mind and body.

Astuti Gallery and Homestay have more than four decades of history, beginning as a batik and painting studio in 1975. It’s now managed by Mrs. Wulan, who has transformed it into a gallery and homestay with nine suites.

The rooms at Astuti Gallery Homestay are uniquely designed and decorated with wooden furnishings and various works of art that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. Each suite has a flat-screen TV, fridge, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Located in Kasongan Village, a center of handicrafts, Astuti Gallery and Homestay offer easy access to explore the local culture and arts. You can visit leather puppet makers, Javanese kris artisans, wooden batik and bamboo fan artisans, and pottery and furniture makers. If you’re interested in natural attractions, you can also visit nearby Parangtritis beach, Goa Selarong, and Kulon Progo.

One of the best things about Astuti Gallery and Homestay is the quiet and rural environment that provides a peaceful ambiance. You can enjoy the beautiful views of rice fields, breathe fresh air that hasn’t been polluted, and indulge in local cuisine that will tantalize your taste buds. Sustainability Commitment

Astuti Gallery and Homestay have committed to sustainability by implementing various eco-friendly practices. The homestay uses a water dispenser instead of single-use plastic bottles to reduce waste. They do not provide single-use plastic bottles, cups, plates, cutlery, straws, or drink stirrers. 

They also do not use disposable plastic packaging for shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Regarding energy and greenhouse gases, most of the food provided at the accommodation is sourced locally, and the lighting mainly uses energy-efficient LED lamps. Additionally, all windows are double glass to conserve energy. 

Water-saving toilets and showers are installed to conserve water, and guests can reuse towels and opt out of daily room cleaning. These practices demonstrate Astuti Gallery and Homestay’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their impact on the environment.
