Once a neglected land covered in bamboo groves, Kebun Bersama has transformed into a testament to the community and nature’s resilience. Adjacent to rice fields and embraced by a flowing river, it’s a picturesque haven.
During the pandemic, Harisah, the visionary founder, gathered local youths to bring life to the abandoned land. The river was cleaned with a genuine space concept, benefiting residents and rice fields. A wooden house emerged on the riverbank, serving as a space for discussions, tea, and exchanging ideas. This shaded garden has become a hub for meaningful movements, from environmental discussions to art performances.
Stroll through Kebun Bersama and discover vibrant flowers and meticulous bonsai plants. Marigolds, globe amaranth flowers, and butterfly pea flowers offer visual delight and herbal tea possibilities. Medicinal plants like turmeric, lemongrass, and basil thrive here, along with Ziziphus mariuritiana, renowned for its healing properties.
Amidst the green landscape, mango, guava, and citrus trees thrive. Black sapote and Vietnamese cherries add nutritional value and vibrant flavors to the ecosystem. The garden’s cafe showcases natural treasures with offerings like rosella tea and butterfly pea flower tea. The highlight is Ayam Masak Lelaki, a tender free-range chicken infused with Bonto Sunggu’s palm wine, a delightful blend of spiciness and sourness.
